Launch of First Positive Parenting Campaign, focusing on young children. The first parenting campaign focused on the importance of having good quality time with children, highlighting the importance of listening to them and being there for them.

Dr Vincent Marmara presented the findings of his evaluation with regards to the first Positive Parenting campaign to Hon. Michael Falzon. The research on the campaign showed that parents spend 5.6 hours every day with their children

The second campaign focused on communication and how parents need to be supported to develop good communication within the family, between the parents and with the children

Launch of second positive parenting campaign

The 2nd phase of the positive parenting campaign was launched, with the tagline ‘Kun hemm ghal Uliedek’ – Be the Parent. This time the focus was on teenage years. Parents may start feeling lost when teenagers distance themselves from them for some reason. The aim was to help parents on ways how they can be a loving parent.

Positive Parenting Taskforce met with Hon. Michael Falzon and the Permanent Secretary, Mr Mark Musu, to discuss current and future milestones to be achieved

Six professionals trained in Parents as Partners Programme, training by the Tavistock Relations London, to become trainers in this programme

Continuous professional development for Midwives by Dr Clarissa Sammut Scerri, within the Department of Child and Family Studies. The training was held for midwives who work with women in the perinatal stage and are experiencing domestic violence.
