Co-hosting the 69th ICCFR Annual Conference: Exploring Intergenerational Perspectives in Families

Positive Parenting Malta was proud to co-host the 69th International Commission on Couple and Family Relations (ICCFR) Annual Conference, focusing on the theme “Intergenerational Perspectives in Families – Challenges and Opportunities.” The event examined the dynamics between different generations, emphasising the critical role of intergenerational relationships in shaping family wellbeing and community cohesion.

Bringing together international and national experts, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, the conference explored how psychological, cultural, economic, and social factors influence intergenerational connections. Discussions covered the impact of grandparental involvement in child development, strategies for fostering resilience across generations, and challenges such as the digital divide and evolving family roles.

Through these conversations, the event reinforced the importance of strengthening intergenerational bonds to promote stability, support, and continuity within families and society as a whole.
